The 2K scanner purchased by MTÜ Digikeskus for the nitrofilm project is the first high quality film scanner in Estonia and has continued to be operational following the nitrofilm project.
Results of Project
- 30 hours of the oldest Estonian film legacy that no one had seen before due to poor physical condition was digitised, including Konstantin Märska’s animation Päev Tallinna Turul (1926) and Tšeka komissar Miroštšenko (1925), which is one of the few feature films from the 1920s that has been fully preserved.
- A digital security-use fond (44TB) was established.

Results of Project
- The www.filmi.arhiiv.ee/fis web environment has made available over 700 hours of video recordings, including newsreel films from 1920 to 1990, which is the most commonly used part of the archive.
- A digital security-use fond (76TB) was established.
- Improved longevity of the originals.
